In 1971 America welcomed ‘Starter’, a sports brand mixing things up with popular culture creating a fresh new idea.
Through the 80s and 90s the brand collaborated with major Hip Hop artists, athletes and T.V stars, showing there was more to them then ‘ just another sports brand’.
They also worked with pro basketball, football and hockey colleges bringing the appeal to the younger market, the company states. “It was the reason you saved your allowance, the one thing you wore EVERY day, the only gift on your list (circled and underlined). After all, you weren't just putting on a jacket; you were wearing your team. And whether at a home game or, better yet, in hostile territory, your colors never ran.�
