Downtown New York is continually birthing artists. Living a downtown New York life creates experiences that are often represented through art. Take Larry Clark's "Kids", a film that was one of the first to artistically represent the downtown New York youth movement. Kids was written by Larry Clark and Harmony Korine, when Korine was only in his late teens. Now after creating other amazing works such as Gummo, and Julien Donkey- Boy, Korine has another movie coming out. "Mister Lonely" hits theaters March 14, and by viewing the trailer, Korine seems to have made another beautiful piece of art. Click here to see the trailer, and take a look at the pic below that Jack Siegel caught of Harmony Korine while he was in town at Aron's spot the Wreck.

Yo guyz, so as I was surfing the internet, I came across these photos from the NYLON and The Kills party. The photos were taken by one of my favs Jack Siegel (www.theskullset.com)... I should have known to look for these pics as I was standing there watching the concert with him! Thinking back on it, all I have to say is that the Kills are amazingggggggggg live. If you have a chance to go and see them, DO IT!!!... also a little bit of gossip... Maybe I am behind the game, but Jamie "Hotel" Hince is dating Kate Moss i heard! I am sorry, but I think that's tight.
Check the Skullset here for the rest of the pictures from this night!

Yo guyz, this past week Michel Gondry's new movie "Be Kind Rewind" starring Jack Black and Mos Def came out in theaters. But along with the film, he has an amazing interactive exhibit up in Deitch right now. I went to check it out, and I think it is a brilliant idea. He has the gallery setup with all different sets where you can sign up for a time and shoot your own movie... or shoot your own 'sweded' movie, as they call it in the movie (they call their 20 min movie remakes, 'sweded' films, as they claim they are the Swedish versions). They supply the camera and the location, all you need is your own idea and actors to create an original or sweded film. You can check out some people's sweded films on youtube... even Michel Gondry's "Be Kind Rewind" sweded trailer. Check it out, along with my pics of the exhibit, AND a very Michel Gondry short film of his I came across on youtube.

Yo, check out one of favorite style icons, who has definitely been a NYLON fav from the beginning. Kirsten Dunst is the new face of the Miu Miu Spring 2008 Ad campaign, and scores a 10 across the board in my opinion. The campaign was shot by photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott in November in Los Angeles. I was sad she was not walking the red carpet on Sunday at the Academy Awards because I am sure she would have looked amazing, but this photo shoot alone is enough style inspiration for awhile!
Read on to see the rest of the pics from the campaign...

Yo guyz, its Spacey back from the dead blog. Sooooo if you wanna go to a legendary downtown bar in the city, Lit on Wednesdays with DJ's Cassie and Harley will rock the rocker within you. "Mind Your Own Business" thrown by the girls (named after the Delta 5 song), has been going on for about a month now, so get on it already. Check out some pics from this party, and you will never want to have a stay-in Wednesday night again. Go kick it with these hot chicks. See you tomorrow night at Lit.

In honor of The Oscars, a list of things that are better than Johnny Depp:
1. Ben and Jerry's Fossil Fuel Ice Cream.
2. Vintage Levis jeans with frayed hems and a button fly.
3. A date where the guy doesn't ask about my ex boyfriends.
4. Unlimited boxes of Polaroid Film.
5. Driving from Wales to Ireland in a Volkswagon.
These are the only things better than Johnny Depp. Thank you.

Yo guyz! So me and Bridget were pleasantly surprised when we walked into the NYLON office today and Becca was watching the coolest band in the world on her computer. MGMT just came out with their music video for "Time to Pretend". Bridget silently walked out of the room, while I cried tears of joy. All I have to say is that it made me the happiest blogger in the world. Enjoy! Also watch them perform live on David Letterman. Miraculous of course. (more)

Yo guyz, so there are some 2008 great updates on some websites. One of my fav artists Brendan Lynch redesigned and updated www.thebrendanlynch.com. Check some of the new pieces and installations. I love his work. So much that one of his pieces made it up on the wall of the new Spacey Tracy room. The shark fin sculpture is rad, as well as all of the other works. Another LAer Charlie Edmiston, added some new pieces to www.charlieedmiston.com. Check em.

Yoo guyz! So the other day I took a trip uptown to the American Museum of Natural History, and it was sooo tight. Me, and New York DJ's Cassie and Harley got on the train and took a few wrong turns, but eventually ended up in the coolest looking place in Manhattan. The detours took a little time away from the museum, but we still got to see the taxidermy, and my favorite, the space section. Our trip to space and back was rad, and Africa was cool too. We even got bit by a snake... A Cobra Snake (check www.thecobrasnake.com for more pics from our safari). Also! Take a look at the Cool Kids and what they do on a night at the museum here on nylonmag.com!
