Hello, bonjour, nei-ho, and ciao Nylonettes!! Cover stars Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen (for NYLON Guys) star in the new movie Jumper, which I checked out over the weekend. It was worldly eye candy for a xenophile like myself -- I highly recommend it for fans of adventure and culture. Besides feasting on grand panoramic views of Egypt, Paris, Rome, the Arctic, Hong Kong, and New York City, UK-based actor Jamie Bell was the film's additional sweet bonus as a wise-cracking confidant-cum-villain. Intense!!

Anyway, real-life fashion darling Bilson doesn't get much of a wardrobe in Jumper, but the name of the movie got me thinking of a different kind of jumper....the jumper dress!! By definition, a jumper dress is meant to be worn over a shirt but nowadays you can nix the top and still serve a jumper's purpose of making someone look precious and adorable. And we all know that Rachel B. knows a thing or two about layering dresses over tanks and tees! So now let's hop around to some online retailers and take a look at some cute jumpers (most of which are now on sale) that you can add to your spring closet. Adieu!

YOOOO guys! Last night I went to see the Broadway rock musical Spring Awakening for, like, the fifth time. Can't get enough. Based on the Frank Wedekind play by the same name, the show is about a group of precocious German teens coming-of-age during the 1890s. But with spring literally around the corner, I just got so inspired by the outfits orchestrated by Costume Designer Susan Hilferty. And I'm just a sucker for period pieces!! Some of the stuff is pretty incredible and here are some pics.

The girls have a big opening number and their light dresses flutter when they're jumping and dancing around the stage. There's a great mix of dark and dusty pallettes and patterns. The dresses are very modestly cut and the details like collars, sleaves, hems, pleats, and buttons make the frocks look authentic.

People love personalizing their wearables. My first foray began with a "Bedazzler", a semi-dangerous rhinestone dispenser that operated much like a stapler. A few gussied jackets later, the late 80's were over and the Bedazzler just didn't make sense anymore. Over the years, I've played with everything from glitter, spray paint, sewing machines, Nike IDs, and now,
The Handbag Lab.

Yoooo sneakerheads! NYC jewelry designer
Gabriel Urist (who has a license with the NBA) has done a sick collab with
adidas to create the official footwear of the Celebrity All-Star Game that's happening February 14-17 in New Orleans. There are only 200 pairs of these limited-edition kicks and they will only be sold exclusively at the the NBA store in The Big Easy during All-Star Weekend.

From the color schemes of tans and golds, to the unique combo of Asian-inspired floral print with a wood panel aesthetic, it's apparent that Urist designed the adidas TS ProModel with his sporty jeweler's sensibilities -- that embodying the spirit of athletic beauty...

The buyers at Los Angeles’
Scout Boutique have definitely been around the block. They scour across the globe for key pieces that inspire, thrill, and shock–pieces that we fashion scoundrels will fork up our savings for because we simply cannot get them out our minds. I shop there because they carry one of my favorite brands
Society For Rational Dress.

Happy Fashion Week everyone! New York is really happenin right now, but as our latest issue w/ The Kills can attest,
London will always be another city of cultural inspiration. Speaking of which, there's an amazing British television series called
Skins that I'm obsessed with (the show's going into its second season in a few days!) about a crazy group of trouble-making teens in Bristol. So good!! But even better are the outfits worn by my favorite character
Cassie. She's the blonde in the middle, the one with the funky socks and serious style...
