VA-VA-VIOLET
Lipstick steals spotlight, despite Gisele and co.
-
There's been good gossip hitting Fashion Week so far (rumors of a rock band at Marc Jacobs, Nicky Hilton in the front row at Sass + Bide, Gisele Bundchen turning up at The Box). But the most talked about thing thus far isn't a celebrity, or even a collection:
It's the lipstick.
At Alexander Wang, Shisheido went with a sheer pink shade that quickly got stolen from every goody bag in sight (the color, if you want it, is rouge iris).
Rag + Bone went with a plummy shade selected by makeup legend Gucci Westmann, who happens to be married to R+B designer David Neville (surprise!).
And last night at Ruffian, a purple shade of lipstick called Violetta threatened to steal the entire show, despite some killer skinny pants and Irina Lazareanu looking like a boho sex bomb.
The best thing about the shade was that it looked perfect on Russian blondies like Tanya D. (above), but also on Chanel Iman, a teen model with skin the color of espresso, and Du Juan, a former Miss China.
The lipstick is at maccosmetics.com if you want to snag it, but beware: since all your friends will look good in it, they'll all be stealing it, too.
