For too long, March Madness has meant only one thing: college basketball. But while the annual sports tournament captures the hearts and minds of a large contingent of our population--and that's cool, don't get us wrong--we've always felt like there was a better use to brackets and bets.
So we've organized NYLON's very first version of March Madness. Instead of pitting eastern conference basketball teams against western conference basketball teams, we've culled a list of the top 64 It Girls in four distinct categories: film, fashion, music, and culture. Every day we'll have our favorites going head-to-head, and it's up to you to vote for a winner. Just like the basketball tournament, this is single elimination so the victor moves on to the next round while the loser is out of the running. Eventually, we'll have a Final Four featuring the top girls from each conference--and then the championships.
We'll be introducing everyone's stats on Monday, March 4, and then starting the tournament on Tuesday, March 5. But in the meantime,
we're sharing with you the official brackets--download it, print it, and then fill it out to place your bets on who will be crowned the March Madness It Girl winner (seriously: let us know who you think is winning in the comments below).
Let the games begin!
