BEST DRESSED: OSCARS
Who takes home the statue for most awesome outfit?
At last night's Academy Awards, just about every major movie from 2012 went home with at least one statue--Argo, Lincoln, Django Unchained, Zero Dark Thirty, Life of Pi, Les Miserables, Silver Linings PLaybook, Amour—the list goes on.
But on the red carpet, winners were a little more obvious. For one thing, there was a lot of blush, champagne, and white out there. There was also a lot of strappy (or strapless) gowns. As the New York Times pointed out today, there weren't many sleeves to be seen. For guys the look of the evening was definitely black-on-black--which we're still debating.
Overall, though, we'll admit: There weren't a ton of wow moments on the red carpet. Lots of dresses that were pretty, but not many that stood out to us as the iconic dress of the year. There were still a few surprises--like both Jennifer Lawrence and Anne Hathaway wearing their blinged-out necklaces backwards, or the gradient effect on the bottom of Zoe Saldana's dress, or even Kristen Stewart showing up on crutches and still looking glamorous. And speaking of glamorous, we thought Jessica Chastain, Naomi Watts, and Jennifer Hudson brought their a-game. And then there was Kerry Washington, whose dress we would have liked if it were just any color, but we loved because it was NYLON pink.
We've pulled together the eight that we were most excited by--let us know in the comments which woman you believe deserves the award for Best Dressed.

What about Amanda Seyfried?! She wore a gorgeous, very interesting corsetted gown from the McQueen collection. She definitely deserves a nod! But I think Chastain was best dressed for sure! Her dress was classic and chic and complemented her features well

Am I the only person who didn't love Anne Hathaway's dress? It looked like a bib to me. Halle Berry was also my favorite dress of the night.

Anne Hathaway's dress is so prom 1992, it's pretty awful especially considering how many people were probably dying to dress her.
Overall, a very boring night for fashion.

I didn't like Kristen Stewart's look. It was ill-fitting if you saw it on tv, and the color seemed to wash her out. I would have loved the dress on someone else though. Also her hair was awful.

There wasn't anything I really adored and I was kind of uninterested this year. But Jennifer and Naomi killed it. And Kristen's dress might have been beautiful but instead of her wearing the dress, the dress wore her...and she could've at least brushed her hair.

I'm not sure if she was in the running but Clooney's date's dress was gorgeous! Stacy Keibler is her name. Otherwise Jennifer Lawrence and Anne Hathaway were my faves, but all were very toned down this year...

I've unfortunately not seen the live of the red carpet. But I've to agree with someone that Amanda Seyfried should be somewhere in there as well. (I've seen photos)
Kristen Stewart actually dressed up, which is surprising and she pulled it off.
Jennifer Lawrence, Anne Hathaway, and Amanda Seyfriend are my best-dressed. :)

All the ladies looked stunning (although, Kristen Stewart looked a little sloppy - love her, but she did), but Jennifer Lawrence's dress was the dramatic elegance of an award winner. She looked fantastic.

Halle Berry was absolutely my favorite! just the lines and cut of the dress made her look so long, lean and statuesque. Not to mention the fact of the silver and gold lines which faded into each other. She took my breath away when she walked on stage.

Naomi watts dress is pretty cool. (Out of these choices) . Loved the bottom of Zoe's dress but her face looked so plain.

JLaw looks flawless though, just beautiful and fresh. All over look she was my fave.

Sandra Bullock in Elie Saab was a highlight for me and like many others I am surprised that neither Amy Adams nor Halle Berry made the cut on here. Out of the 8 chosen I think Naomi Watts made the biggest impact in her custom Versace. A very understated oscars this year.

Off of this list my favourite would be Naomi Watts. Not a huge fan of Anne's dress it reminds me way too much of bad 90's prom dresses. Kristen Stewart is not deserving to be up here, I don't hate the Reem Acra dress but it does not flatter her figure at all. She didn't accessorize and barely ran a brush through her hair. Best dressed shouldn't just be about the dress...I think she should have been substituted for Jenn Aniston or Sandra B....Also, did anyone see Alicia Vikander? Um, wow! Just stunning.

Out of these; it's a tie between Kstew and Jessica Chastain. Overall, IMO, the best dressed were these two ladies along with Jen Aniston, Jane Fonda, Halle Berry and Adele's epicly sparkly performance dress. Anne Hathaway's and Jennifer Lawrence's dresses were atrocious!
