There are some movies where everyone is like, "You have to see it!" But you secretly know that you'd actually hate it and so rather than waste your time you opt to skip it.
But I can promise you that
The Perks of Being a Wallflower is not that movie.
When we put the film's stars--Emma Watson, Logan Lerman, and Ezra Miller--on our October cover, the feedback we got about the flick was across the board positive. Yet for some reason I never got around to seeing it until over the holidays, mid-flight from Amsterdam to New York. And what can I say, other than it was one of the best films I saw all year. I laughed, I cried (yes, I'm that weird person who cries on airplanes), and I nearly re-watched it an hour after it finished.
If, like me, you missed out on it when it was in theaters, you can finally redeem yourself:
The Perks of Being a Wallflower comes out on DVD next week and, in celebration, we're giving away five Blu-Ray copies. All you have to do?
