SONG PREMIERE: SWISS LIPS
The Manchester buzz band take on Frank Ocean--and we've got the track for free.
If 2012 was the year of Frank Ocean (our editors said so), then 2013 might just be the year of Swiss Lips. The Manchester, UK five-piece have been garnering buzz for their hyper electro-pop sound since they first released their throwback b-boy video for "U Got The Power" in late 2011.
But that's not the only reason why--they've also just taken on Ocean's own "Lost," and they more than give the Channel Orange mastermind a run for his money. "Something about that record really got me," explains songwriter and vocalist Sam Hammond, adding, "We realized that we could turn this song into something bolder than the original and give people a new reason to love it."
To record it the band headed out of the city, shacking up at an "old farmhouse for two days," where they, as Hammond remembers, "ate a massive banoffee pie and recorded [the track]." The end result? "It definitely sounds more Swiss Lips than Frank Ocean," says the singer, adding, "The song still belongs to Frank though."
And now, you--not only do we have the exclusive premiere of Swiss Lips' "Lost" cover, but it's also a free download. That should tide you over while you wait for the band's debut album to come out this April. Because as we said, 2013 is totally their year.

Saw these guys supporting Bastille last year and they were incredible live. Love this interpretation too, 2013 could definitely be their year!
