#ITLIST: FALL HAIR TRENDS

#ITLIST: FALL HAIR TRENDS

From the It expert on the subject, Roxie Darling.

If you're looking for a need-right-now haircut, you'd be well served making a visit to Roxie Darlin. The Cutler salon stylist--who has quickly become one of our favorites thanks to her killer instincts when it comes to both color and cut--has her finger on the pulse of what we'll be seeing all over the place in the coming months. And because we're us, we don't want to wait. "I believe in the breed that is the It girl. It's the girl who appreciates the things in her life that make her able to carry the confidence that she has and she expresses herself to let you know so!" We couldn't have said it better ourselves. Behold, Roxie's complete guide to everything your hair should be.

WASHED UP

The Look: I love the wet look on short and medium hair. It can look messy and sophisticated at the same time.
How To Get It: Apply Cutler Tattoo Shine when your hair is wet and use a comb or brush with medium density bristles. Start from your part and comb straight down. Using Redken Moisture Lock Conditioner for this works well.
The Inspiration: Grunge! It's also very asexual, so it's cool for the boys and the girls.

SQUEAKY CLEAN
The Look: Totally opposite from the first look, I love medium length hair that is squeaky clean and straight, but not ironed straight.
How To Get It: Get this look by blow drying with Redken Tousle Whip 04 and a big round brush. Finish with Redken All Soft Argan Oil to polish the midshaft through the ends and tame any flyaways.
The Inspiration: My inspiration behind this is suburbia in the ’70s an the ’90s and the kind of preppy moms who would make their kids wash their hair every day.

BEACHED OUT
The Look: For this hair type, I am really into beach waves that are brushed out with very little product in them.
Hot To Get It: Start by sectioning off the hair nice and neatly then wrapping two inch sections around a one inch curling iron and spraying each section with Redken Fashion Work 12 before wrapping. This is a working spray that will not feel residual in your hair at the end. After you've curled all your hair and have let it cool for a minute, use a flat brush and brush through those curls starting from the bottom and working your way up to the roots. Run some Redken All Soft Argan Oil through the ends, so that it's not too pouffy!
The Inspiration: The gorgeous girls of the ’60s and ’70s who had beautiful, naturally curly hair and would brush it over and over again to really show off their mane.

FRIZ FEST
The Look: I love a combination look that's greasy and flat in the roots and frizzy curly on the ends.
How To Get It: First, air dry your hair and apply a lot of Redken Outshine #1 at the part using the palms of your hands and apply it through the first three to four inches after your part. As your hair dries, keep flattening out the top of your hair while also scrunching Fatboy Perfect Putty into the ends to enhance your natural wave and get a messier texture.
The Inspiration: My love of classic rock. Looking at all of the rock stars and their groupies and their life on the road and recreating that look in our daily lives to live out that dream.

ROCKED OUT
The Look: Concert hair that has been danced in! The can't-ever-go-wrong-look. AKA, "I'll still look good in the morning." This is the best and the easiest because this combination can be done on your everyday hair. It is versatile and works on every texture—including the blown out look.
How To Get It: Apply Fatboy Perfect Putty throughout all of the roots of your hair. Then add the ultimate pizazz- spray, Redken Quick Tease #15, to the crown of your head and use your fingers to back comb one inch sections. Finish with Redken Forceful #23 hairspray to lock in your look.
The Inspiration: Looking at the girl that you see in the morning doing the walk of shame who you know had the best time ever last night.

I agree with the other users. No photos was a bad idea. I definitely a visual to even attempt these. I thought it was going to mention ombre hair and dyeing it red. I know around where I live it's a huge fall hair trend. Just saying. This is disappointing.

I second the no pictures comment. What is the point of having an article for a fashion magazine with out any images to support the details of a look?
