#ITLIST: DJ SO SUPER SAM
Meet the DJ who is seriously saving the last dance!
Meet our #itlist DJ To Know: So Super Sam. She picked her name well, because she really is so super. Sam made her name DJing parties around her hometown, Los Angeles, CA, and now she is busting grooves around the globe.
Spinning for everyone from Boyz II Men (yes!) to Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino to HBO's Girls Season 2 wrap party, Sam's client list reads like our personal list of favorites. And she's more than just a really, really, ridiculously good looking girl-behind-a-booth. She pumps up the jams like a veteran soiree soothsayer; mixing in your favorite song, right when you want to hear it, and by the end of the night serving up the ultimate party favor: a new favorite jam to Shazam!
If you can't make it to one of Sam's parties in person, she has an awesome blog where she posts mixtapes (our faves!) and snaps of her outfits and cohorts.
We caught up with Miss Mix-a-lot to find out what she's listening to (and wearing!) and how to kill a party in 2.5 seconds -- read on!

I know you're finally back in LA, but what were you up to all summer? Where'd you go, who did you play with? It's probably a long list, so the Cliff's Notes version is fine!
This summer was out of this world! My summer highlights were eating a smoked meat sandwich at Schwartz' deli in Montreal, playing at Le Bain with Maluca and the Suzan, swinging from tree branches in Kauai and this insanely fun hip hop class I took with Erika Bearman [aka oscarprgirl] and Joe Zee!
Worst (or best?) party foul you saw?
This girl dropped an entire glass of champagne on my DJ mixer and killed the party in 2.5 seconds. It was the worst.
Ouch. That's really bad!
THE. WORST.
We love keeping up with what you're wearing on your blog. Anything special on your wishlist right now?
These leather trousers from A.L.C. are at the top of my wish list. I drop into Barney's regularly just to look at them and try them on. It's kind of sad haha. I want them so bad.
Favorite party shoes?
My vintage flat lace up boots. They are flat first of all, but still so sexy and bad ass.
Since parties and work can often be one in the same for you, what's your ideal day off?
Great question! I am a total homebody! An ideal day off will consist of pajamas, a facial mask, super mellow soul music, and flipping through Japanese magazines.
You are officially my soul mate and I'm coming over with face masks and NYLON Japan ASAP!

1. Well curated music
2. A surprise performance

5. Candy. BOOM.
What do you have on repeat right now?
Adorn by Miguel. I'm guilty of playing it an average of 16 times a day. It's perfect.
