#TREND: FINE PRINT

The patterns that we'll remember long after Fashion Week ends.

So many prints come down the runway each season, but then there are the few lucky ones that make it to iconic print status. Us print lovers watch each show waiting to see what the next Prada car print will be.

Already, there are a few from spring '13 that we're ready to insert into our repertoire. Take the graffiti print at Diesel, which was inspired by a photo designer Sophia Kokosalaki took of actual street art. At Suno's show, a cell phone print still has everyone talking (hehe). Chris Benz's collection, which he describes as both "scary pretty and sickeningly sweet" was based on zombie apocalypse stories--that is, if zombies wore really awesome floral prints. Benz should do the wardrobe for the next Tim Burton film—we'd totally pay an extra $8 to see that in 3-D. And when on the topic of icons, prints, and iconic prints, we can't not mention Jeremy Scott, whose Middle Eastern hip-hop-inspired collection was full of prints we want to rock late-night. But for daytime, we're going to need some of those Thakoon prints you'd see on your grandma's fancy china in white and blue.

Take a first look at the soon-to-be iconic prints along with these checkerboard prints from spring '13.
