CORY'S GREAT ADVENTURE

I went to a cemetery with a boy and got three massive spider bites."

This week, Cory Kennedy visited Portland and San Francisco on the NYLON Summer Music Tour. If you want to join her, go to nylonmag.com/musictour to get tickets in your city!

Part One: Portland.
Got into Portland. People hang out in strip clubs as if they were just bars (and these strip clubs are insane and raw, hopefully my last time in one). I also got to experience a Portland house party, which in the downstairs basement had a rave vibe with strobe lights and slinkys.... There were also old TVs playing parts of cult movies over and over again. After that I went to a cemetery with a boy and got three MASSIVE spider bites... Heading back to the Aloft hotel, which was full of Portlandia pride and not to mention how PRO-GREEN it is (go green!!). Sarah and I had to get a 'put a bird on it' t shirt shirt (there was no way i was leaving Portland without one). The food and 'family' kitchen was very vegetarian and vegan friendly at surprisingly totally affordable. Before we knew it, we were on to the next stop. On the way, we found this ridiculous coffee shop/ carwash where the baristas' uniforms were strictly bikinis. No, i am not making this up. i have photos to prove it. It was insane, but I am so glad I witnessed it all.

Part Two: San Francisco.
Got to San Fran to the Filmore, one of my favorite venues. The whole band got together. Sipping on Starbucks, interviewing, and taking photos of people with good style or particular pieces i really liked. Made a new friend named Geary who was helping us out at the Starbucks table. Having fun with Z Berg in the dressing rooms. Of course, all the bands were great... Super crazy line of fans waiting in the cold weather around the block after the show for autographs and a chance to meet the these musicians. After it all, we went to this bar where they let you bring in your dog and play with the other dogs, and eat goldfish crackers and popcorn. Now thats freaking cute.

Plus: See Cory's last stop in Starbucks' hometown, Seattle!
