STAR TURN

STAR TURN

Will this lip balm make you famous?

When we saw a new product called "Superstar Lipline" chapstick, we had to try it. The Tiffany-blue tube claimed to bring the makeup equivalent of an x factor with a glossy texture, a shiny effect, and a yummy nostalgic cherry taste. Made in Los Angeles by sisters Erika and Adrian Culverson, the gloss sells for $14, and can be worn alone or over a coat of lipstick.

After trying Superstar Lipline (in a pink hue that's cleverly named "Debut") we can say it certainly does amplify the shiny, super-pretty, "I was born this way" kind of pout we're used to seeing on celebs like Blake Lively. But the effect is subtle - not a heavy-duty swipe of sparkles.

If you want that little extra glimmer before you head out for your next audition, this tube of gloss / balm / shine is a very good idea. If you need a bigger boost than that... well... maybe forget the makeup and try bribing the director instead?

I just saw this at Urban Outfitters and it looked awesome but there's only 1 color/flavor and I doubt even MAC would charge $14 for a standard-size tube of lip balm.

This is a product I would buy, no doubt. But the selection of products in the beauty section here always make me think that these are just advertorial plugs, and no actual research goes into finding these products. Because all of the write ups on these new lip balms and beachy wave solutions are just products. Can we please have some actual articles on beauty, and not just a directory on what we should buy next?
