For 84 years, hair stylists and their iconic work in film have been totally left out at the Academy Awards, while costumes and makeup could go for gold. (We never understood why, so we chalked it up to Oscar being bitter because he's bald.)
But for the 85th annual award show, slated to happen in 2013, the "Best Achievement in Makeup" category has been officially changed to "Best Achievement in Makeup and Hairstyling," meaning
The Hunger Games and
Rock of Ages could go head to head for the prize.
