Painting hearts and stars (and eyeballs, and bunnies, and skulls...) on your nails is fun, but if you don't have the time or the creative yearning to turn your manicure session into an art class, there's another option: Ombre Nails.

The concept is simple - just pick five different gradients of the same shade, and use each polish on one finger, moving from darkest (on your thumb) to lightest (on your pinky). We've been Instagramming our own versions for months, and now those trendy doozers at Urban Outfitters have cranked out a kit to make it easier. Created by cosmetics company The New Black, the kit includes five polishes laid out like a liquid Pantone strip, and comes in a version with blue shades (navy to cloud) or red (light pink to brick).
Plus: Spiderman nails by OPI
Urban's charges $22 per kit - that's about $4 per polish. But if you'd rather do green, purple, or even shades of gray, it's totally possible to go to CVS, pick five polishes in the same color family, and create your own palette for this look.
