Marc by Marc Jacobs is a fun show for three main reasons:
1. All the cool models walk it.
2. The soundtrack is usually crammed with stuff already on our iPods.
3. The clothes offer a budding version of the blossomed ideas from Marc's collection show - and unlike many of those runway pieces, you can actually buy this stuff.
This season, the boys were toy soldiers and some of the the girls were porcelain dolls - red painted-on lips, tight Rooney Mara ponytails, and full-skirted dresses printed with black roses and burnished gold polka dots.
But the giant spectacles, the slim-cut suits with tapered ankle hems, and the oversize sweaters over the plaid schoolgirl skirts had us thinking of
Spring Awakening, the Broadway show by Duncan Sheik about school kids discovering sex in 1900s Austria.
If the show's theme was indeed The End of Innocence, it might also be The End of Our Bank Accounts - we won't rest until we get that blue chevron party dress in our closets!
