Many people in the fashion industry collect vintage pin-up calendars, and we're betting the creative department at Maybelline is hoarding some of the best. How else could we explain their amazing 2012 calendar, featuring Maybelline girls Erin Wasson, Shu Pei, Jessica White, and Emily Didonato in crazy / gorgeous makeup that represents each month.

There's Pei's Chinese New Year manicure for February (Year of the Dragon!), Didonato's independence day eyelashes (red, white, and blue, naturally), Wasson posing as a summertime DJ, and White acting as a weather girl to predict April Showers and May Flowers. (A bit of a stretch on the concept, sure, but the photo is gorgeous.)

As for this year's makeup trends, it seems nail art is still going strong (yay!) along with ombre painted lips, major neon eyes, and Kool Aid colored eyelashes (which might be the next step after dip-dyed hair styles?).

actually, it's Shu Pei Qin. Shu Pei's her first name and Qin's her last name. That kind of name mistake is a bit embarrassing for a magazine like Nylon, no?

Hi Alex,
Thanks for asking. Shu Pei isn't just the model's first name, it's also her professional name, and the name her agency, Next, uses to list her on all their international boards; Maybelline also refers to her as just "Shu Pei" in the ads (as opposed to Erin Wasson, whose professional name and full name are identical). --F

kind of strange that they did the CNY manicure in february, seeing as how this year it falls on 23 january..
but gorgeous photos!
