Come and get us, truth.com - we think smoking makes girls look really cool... especially the kind you can do with your eyeliner and not with a Marlboro.
A black-rimmed eye can make a dainty cocktail dress perilously chic, it can turn a t-shirt into a mischievously sexy outfit, and - if you do it right - it can survive an all-nighter completely intact, and sometimes look even better in the morning.
The thing with smoky eyes is they take some practice, but thanks to ever-advancing makeup products, they don't necessarily take lots of
time.
Our favorite new tool in that department is the Fat Stick by Eyeko. (You may remember their addictive Fat Balm for lips and cheeks that was tragically discontinued this year.) This stick is the real thing: soft enough to "color in" your lid as if it were a kindergarten art project, and sheer enough to create a dynamic look with darker black at the corners and a more subtle smoke-out on top. (You can also layer it thick across and around your entire eye, the way models looked during the recent Versace x H&M fashion show, as pictured above.) Use the stick slowly your first time, but once you get the hang of it, you can get a basic smoky eye in under five minutes.
Also, bonus: besides the whole avoiding-lung-cancer thing, you won't get carded or interrogated by your mom when you buy
this smoking stick...
