FIRST LOOK: KARL LAGERFELD FOR IMPULSE

FIRST LOOK: KARL LAGERFELD FOR IMPULSE

The king of fashion invades Macy's.

The most revered Macy's employee used to be Santa Claus, but that's set to change on August 31. That's when fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld launches his collection at the storied department store, with rumors swirling about an in-store appearance at the New York City flagship this Fall.

The range, called Karl Lagerfeld for Impulse, includes tuxedo dresses, blazers, vegan "leather" leggings, and reworked tweed that hints at Lagerfeld's allegiance with Chanel.

Canadian beauty Coco Rocha (whom you may remember from our 2009 It Girl issue) is the face of the new project, but with prices averaging $50-$170 for the clothes, just about anyone can be Karl's impromptu model.

Now the real question: Will Macy's give Mr. Lagerfeld his own balloon and float for their Thanksgiving Day Parade? It would color-coordinate perfectly with Snoopy...

I love the blush dress and for $99 it's nothing but a steal! @Corrina Paterno: I'm confused... Do you love the collection or hate it?

The cuts are very flattering, and from what I can tell the fabric seems to be of good quality. The prices are fairly high though, especially for Macy's. I personally couldn't afford most of these items at full price, so this collection is probably aimed at the upper middle class.
