We don't know where James Franco gets his energy from, but whatever his secret is- we want it. The actor/ literature student/ teacher has been working with New York performance artist Kalup Linzy for the past year on a fairly under-the-radar musical project.
The guys- who first became friends when Linzy joined Franco for a guest appearance on General Hospital - are finally releasing a EP, Turn It Up. The title track off the 7" is a techno-inflected dance jam, and it's available to buy starting today.

My renaissance man! God, James. Stop or I will have to jump you if ever I have the pleasure of meeting you.

I'm suuuper into James Franco, but I'm not into this song at all. Here's hoping it is an acquired taste.

God I love James Franco 4life but this is one steaming pile of musical s-h-i-t-e. Think he's spreading himself too thin.

Worthless, pointless, pathetic. Can't wait for JF to blame somebody--anybody--everybody--for this fiasco.

he doesn't.. err... do anything on the track except say a couple of words
if that's all it takes to say you've 'moved into music' then... wtf
though he's probably helping out a mate get publicity for the record so fair enough

Hmm, it's not a half bad dance mix but I'm having a hard time letting Franco take music credits for it. A couple voice-overs does not a musican make.

Come on James Franco, why did you do this to yourself? If you're doing this to get someone get famous, then fine. But honestly the song itself is realllyyy bad.
