LIP LOCK

We test Covergirl's new Lip Perfection line on a known makeup enemy - ice cream.

If you haven't noticed, we're a little obsessed with finding lipsticks that last all day.  So when Covergirl sent us a box of their latest products - called the Lip Perfection series - we were less interested in their claim that you could get a moisturized and "healthy" pout, and more fascinated with their time line.  Can you wear this new collection and still live your life?

To test the range, which includes eight lip pencils and 44 lipstick shades, we grabbed our interns Bertie and Julie, and sent them on an ice cream field trip.

The results were really good (and not just because they love Soft Serve).  After one application of the lip liner (which has a slightly gummy, sticky texture) and one swipe of lipstick (a slightly sheer but very bright pink), Bertie's lips were the exact same color as when she started.

We included before, during, and after photos to prove it - and just in case you want to copy her, Bertie's wearing the lip pencil shade "Radiant" under the lipstick color "Dazzle."  (Don't panic - the results are less Barbie Dreamhouse than their names.)

Whoa it even matches the ice cream. Your interns are hard core beauty junkies huh?

Good color, you notice its there but its not super girly pink which is usually just wrong. Also thanks for writing about a lipstick that isn't 20 bucks and from a fancy store you can only visit in a city. Nothing wrong with Walmart y'all!

Agree about the color, good but not too crazy. But I wish Cover Girl made ALL their lipsticks out of RECYCLED MATERIAL! Not just the Taylor Swift ones!

Seriously this is what your interns look like? Do you make them send photos before you hire them? Or everyone just "happens" to look like the models in your magazine? Way to use "real girls." Gag.

I have it in "siren" which is like a purple pink and it's really good. A little sheerer than I expected but good. Cheep too!

Real girls are cute, too! I don't understand why only ugly girls would be considered real... Sorry if your parents' genes didn't give you the best mix. ...But I have 4 different colors of LipPerfection and I love them! They're very user-friendly.
