Is orange nail polish a good idea?
Recently, two major manicure hubs released orange lacquers. Deborah Lippman's was inspired by the Dutch model (and Calvin Klein muse) Lara Stone, while Givenchy's just seems to be spurred by summer itself.
Meanwhile, American Apparel, Forever 21, Pop Beauty, OPI, Essie, and even Anna Sui have included orange polish in their summer palettes.
Now, we're obsessed with figuring out how / why / if this trend is going to take off. We even photo-shopped our favorite young model, Austria (above), with an orange manicure, just to see. Pretty cute, no?
We've never worn it before, but we'll try anything once (especially in the name of a beauty experiment). The better question is, will you?

Love orange nail polish! There's also this great brand I found at a Duane Reade in NYC called Prevail and that had some great trendy colors and the orangey-red I purchased is so professional looking and vibrant. I want that lip color that the model is wearing in this nail polish photo, anyone know?

Actually, I'm wearing it right now and I love it! It just adds a pop of color to every thing and makes me feel awesome even in my pj's; I definitely recommend it :)

Loves....I actually bought a color from the Revlon line called Madly Mango and it actually smells fruity when dry!!! Im surprised its not on the list. Its not too bright and looks cute on any skintone. =]

Since I'm from Holland I wear it a few times a year: at Queensday and during important international soccer games. But I cannot count the times I wished for another national color. I cannot see this as a serious beauty/fashion statement I'm afraid, and I think this goes up for most Dutchies. Besides, I'm way too lazy to polish my nails for only one day, and orange, well, it just doesn't go with everything...

I do think this tred will take off. Here in Rio we have been using it for years and we just love it. Any skincolor matches it, it is all about daring colors.

I've been wearing orange polish for years. I'm black and it looks great with my skin tone. there's a really good glowy neon shade at duane reade or walgreens by Milani called awesome orange. It's one of my faves.
