LOOKBOOK: PETER JENSEN

The sixties invasion continues...

Peter Jensen claims his latest collection was inspired by the Danish film actress Anna Karina.  She was a New Wave heroine known for her black cake eyeliner and her striking resemblance to Bambi, with staggy legs and hemlines dutifully slashed by Mary Quant.

That means the latest collection is crammed with miniskirts, a-line dresses, capes, caps, and more knee-high stockings than you'll find in Constance Billard's locker room.

The mix of bright reds, flat tans, and Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Da sky blue is arresting and retro, and it fills yet another place in the '60s throwback pedestal for Fall 2011.

All you need to go with these outfits is a vinyl Beatles EP (and a credit card - they're designer, after all).
