KATE BOSWORTH: MARCH COVER GIRL

Playing it cool with America's sweetheart.

Even by celebrity standards, Kate Bosworth is an overachiever. An accomplished actress and athlete, the Connecticut native won her first role, as ScarJo's doomed adolescent best friend in "The Horse Whisperer," by bringing a Polaroid of herself to an extras casting session. Now nearly 30, Bosworth has a new side project: a jewelry line with her stylist, Cher Coulter. Here's what she said during our cover shoot in LA:

On her new jewelry collection, JewelMint:
"I wanted to make everything $30. There's nothing in that price range, really. You can go to, like, Claire's and get something for $5, and the next level up is over $100.  This is a middle range of really cute, really fun accessories.  All my friends love a bargain, whether or not they can also shop at expensive stores... Sienna Miller's one of my best friends and we always go bargain hunting!"

On her new co-star:
"I'm obsessed with Ezra Miller. He's such a fantastic actor and I'm really honored, honestly, that we got to work together. He's gonna be a big deal."

On fate:
"I don't think I could be anything but an actress but if I were, I'd be a psychiatrist. I think people are so interesting and I think their issues are so much a part of what make people who they are. I know I have my issues, for sure!"

I think a Florence Welch or Marina Diamandis cover is long overdue... But oh well. These pictures are awesome and so is Kate Bosworth, so it's all okay :)

Why do you bother with this one, she looks too old. No idea why anyone gives a damn about her.

I don't think she is original. I think she tries too hard. Not too impressed with her or her style. Her style is cute but does not belong to her but rather other European "it" girls. We need other original "it" girls to grace your cover. Diane Kruger the original "it" girl. Sorry Kate.

Pretty boring Nylon, I gotta say. Can't think of even one film of note that she has made. Mmmm could it be because of that interminably blank stare? Remarkably little capability of expression for an actress! Oh wait, she does oversee someone else design a jewelry line, doesn't she? And tries to dress like her friend Sienna? Forgive me, most definitely worthy of a cover after all. ;-D

she's pretty i'm sure, but disappointed that someone more 'relevant' to now wasn't in her place. look at all the gorgeous women linked with the current awards season, for example. not an issue i'm going to bother with.

picking up the magazine, i was not sure about kate bosworth. as i started sifting through the magazine and reaching her article, I suprisingly devoured it in minutes. kate bosworth is down to earth and can relate to almost anyone. thank you nylon for choosing an excellent covergirl.

Oh, Nylon how I love thee! But, Kate Bosworth? Really? I am completely dumbfounded by this choice.

BORING. Surprised by your choice Nylon. Love the mag but yuck. Don't think this "actress" has anything to offer but pursed lips and a pretentious quote here and there. As far as this JewelMint line: she had to come up with something to get some magazine press right? Her "career" consists of getting in the eye line of paps while leaving clubs. Oh and the jewelry is worse than Claire's -i would not give you a penny for any of her pieces.

J2, Have you actually seen any of JewelMint's jewelry? Check out their Facebook page, which has grown to over 185,000 fans in a number of weeks. You don't have to like the jewelry, but it's much better quality than a lot of similarly priced jewelry that's out there. The pieces are designed specifically for JewelMint, and they have a lots of little details that you won't find on cheaper jewelry. And at a set $29.99 for each piece, they're really not that more expensive than pieces that aren't made as well. Plus they have promotions all the time where you can pick up certain pieces for anywhere between 20% to 60% off. Check out Jewelmint's Facebook page for pics of satisfied customers modeling their jewelry. I think it might grow on you when you see it on "real people!"

Tricia - your comment about Kate's age was extremely rude. First of all, she looks great. Second of all, do you think that you're going to stay young forever? Think about how you'll feel if that comment is made about you in a few years. Who knows if you'll age well or not; you might end up not looking as good as Kate, who is definitely not old. It makes me wonder how old you are that you think of her as old - twelve?

Tricia

03/12/2011

I think she's too old for this magazine. She's not to old to live, chill out LSM. I don't want to look at her, with her mouth hanging open, and I don't get why she was even featured, she doesn't do anything that anyone cares about.

I concur, this female on the cover looks too old for Nylon. Nor is she relevant. I think I've seen her in People once, but other than that, I don't recognize her. I did look at this jewerly site you speak of. Not my style. Maybe for others but not for me. Others here keep saying she is "talented". Please tell me how I can learn of this talent?

swf

03/14/2011

p.s. to LSM; you seem quite defensive. Please, for your own sake do not take personally that which is said on the internet. Also, it seems to me you owe TRICIA an apology. You were extremely rude. Be a good girl, and play nice.

She looks like a crackwhore. Period.
