Thanks to Twitter, Facebook, and a really fast modem, we've gotten a lot of requests lately in the makeup department. It seems you want to see us try our favorite beauty products - and show you the results online.
With that in mind, we introduce Test Drive, a new column where one of us finds a product, tests it, and camera-phones how it looks for you.
We're not models - we're not even our beauty director, Holly Siegel - we're just a bunch of girls obsessed with cosmetics and saving a little time at the Sephora Counter.
Today, we test Tarte "Pouty," a new crayon from their "LipSurgence" formula that's paraben free and promises a cross between a color stain and a lip gloss.
Our product: Tarte "Pouty," at Sephora for $24.Our test: Apply it, take a photo, then drink a cup of tea (Earl Grey, if you must know) and take another photo.
Our results: We love the way this stuff feels and it's easy to apply. The color is surprisingly rich for a gloss, and after a cup of tea, the gloss had faded, but the shade stayed the same - I was definitely still wearing makeup.
See the Test Drive in action, and if you want to try your own makeup for a story, send me photos (faran@nylonmag.com) and let us know your results!
