Pink is the new... whatever.

If you're Barbie, your closet is already crammed with pink. If you're not - well, brace yourselves. Today, Pantone announces the color of 2011 is honeysuckle, otherwise known as pink.

According to the company, "Honeysuckle emboldens us to face everyday troubles with verve and vigor. A dynamic reddish pink, Honeysuckle is encouraging and uplifting. It elevates our psyche beyond escape, instilling the confidence, courage and spirit to meet the exhaustive challenges that have become part of everyday life."

Um, okay. Or pink can add a lively shot to your outfit, as long as you don't overdo it. Stick with super-chic or super-tough silhouettes so you don't look like Princess Cala from Gummi Bears - or the My Little Pony that's appropriately named "Honeysuckle." (You can see it here.)

There's also the obvious answer to referencing the trend without going all Troop Beverly Hills: nail polish!
