YOUNG TURKS
What you can steal from Chanel's Paris-Byzance collection.

When Coco Chanel launched her costume jewelry collection in the 1920's, a chief inspiration was the glamour, history, and mystique of Istanbul ("the artist formerly known as Constantinople").
This season, Karl Lagerfeld pays homage to those archives, plus his many Turkish craftsmen and their arts, with the Paris-Byzance collection. Inspired by the gilded opulence of Byzantine culture, the collection features clothes and accessories encrusted with jewels and embroidered with metallic threads.
The clothes are sumptuous and downright dreamy, but if you can't score the gossamer evening gowns or woven gold cloaks, we'd turn your attention to the hair and makeup - slightly undone up 'dos, Cleopatra liquid liner, and a gold scarf tied stiff like a crown can reference the collection without draining your expense account.
And yes, we've included a close-up on the models' manicures, so you can plot your next DIY lacquer - or put your name on the waiting list for an actual bottle now.
