If
90210 (or
The O.C., or
Laguna Beach, for that matter
) ever needed a soundtrack, they need to look no further than Young the Giant. The indie rock quintet has perfected the sun-drenched pop sound that's practically
begging to be on primetime TV.
This perfect musical match is no coincidence, considering the band members all grew up together in Orange County. But, now these high-school friends are breaking out of the California music scene in more ways than one.
They've already hit the road with Marina and the Diamonds and Neon Trees, and their debut album is filled with catchy rock tracks that we've been playing on repeat for the past week. We especially can't get enough of their singles, "My Body" and '"Strings," which sound totally different, but they're equally addictive in that Vampire Weekend-meets-the Killers-kind of way.
And because we couldn't choose which of their singles to give away, we decided to do both- after all, they're just too good to be kept secret.
