HOLY MANICURE, BATMAN!

HOLY MANICURE, BATMAN!

A little Fall nail art for a little Spring bird.

Fans of Audrey Hepburn went nuts last year, when China Glaze debuted a nail polish in her honor.  Called "For Audrey," it's a dead ringer for Tiffany blue, and matches well with (real or faux) diamond rings.

But although we love that Fifth Avenue hue as much as anyone, we realized something else last night while painting our nails:  "For Audrey" is also the same shade as a robin's egg before it hatches.

Inspired, we speckled our nails with gray, black, and white flecks to simulate the egg's delicate but perky beauty.  The key is depth - gray first, then black, then white, otherwise your nails look too graphic, as if Tiffany did a nail-art collaboration with Jackson Pollock's estate.  Of course, that might not be a bad thing.

I think this is an adorable idea. I would attempt to make the flecks half as small (perhaps using a tooth pick) in order to make the spots less shocking and more innocent like real robin's eggs.
