SPARK NOTES

Our favorite new way to be a fan of metallica.

Like Pilates and Bjork, glitter eyeshadow is a love-or-hate affair.  Use too much and you look like Jem minus the Holograms.  Use too little and you might as well be wearing normal shadow - albeit one that's way more expensive and harder to apply.

But the darlings at Bare Minerals have come up with a solution for the perfect glitter / shimmer / metallic lid.  It's called "High Shine Eye Color" and it's a loose but dense powder in a tube.  Unscrew the top and use its sponge applicator (basically a glorified lip gloss puff) to smear the glitter across your lids.  One coat is substantial. Two coats is Sci Fi.

We like the basic ease of the product, and the way it lets you color your whole eyelid, or focus on just the inner corners and lash line.  And we love the end result, which is gorgeous and takes two seconds to apply.  But there's one thing we'd change - when you unscrew the tube, it springs open a little too fast, sprinkling a tiny bit of glitter all over your hands.  Oops.

Check out our test-drive of the product in the photos below.

Why is Faran so damn cute. Aren't you supposed to be edgy and miserable to get photographed for nylon?

haha, I've been doing this since the end of summer. I love using metallic purple for the dark edges with gold at the tear duct.
