We've been stealing our boyfriends' sweaters for years, and we're not above swiping the occasional Ben Sherman polo, either. But using a cosmetic created for guys hasn't crossed our minds, until we discovered Manglaze.
The "original matte nail polish" was created for death metal rockers and their (male) acolytes, so they didn't have to keep coloring their fingers with Sharpie marker. But of course, the groupies and roadies wanted it for themselves, and soon, a cult of girls all over the country were sporting this matte stuff in colors like "Fuggen Ugly" (gray-black), "Mayo" (Casper white), and "Hot Mess" (silver).
Now it's $13.13 a bottle at Urban Outfitters, or you can order an empty pot called the FrankenJugg (?!) on the Manglaze website that encourages you to mix your own shade of swampy lacquer. Each bottle comes packed in a tiny recycled paper box, with original label art by graphic artists like Jason Atomic.
We tested the nail goop in our office and realized pretty quickly - the boys were gonna have to fight us if they wanted it back.
