BLOOD DIAMOND

Do band-aids need bling?

When Cynthia Rowley launched her Band-Aid collection earlier this season, we thought, "Aw, cute."  After all, Hello Kitty, Snoopy, Care Bears, and generic "I'm-so-goth" skulls all have their own bandages, so why not a New York fashion maven?

But this week, Sephora goes a step further.  They have a new product called "Boo Boo Bling," which they describe like this:  "Cover skin blemishes, scars, tattoos, and ugly boos with bling!"  The sheets of colored crystals come in five colors, including black, clear, pink, hot pink, and purple.  They're designed to fit directly over a normal Band-Aid and add maximum sparkle.

But we're barely on board with bedazzling an iPhone case.  Should we start sticking rhinestones on bandages, too?  Let us know what you think.  And if you're intrigued or inspired, score a set of five bandage covers on the Sephora website, for $6.

I'm a like.I mean people are going 2 notice an ugly band-aid anyway so why not glam it up with something attractive.

I must admit if I am wearing a bandaid it's not something I want to advertise or put any kind of bling on.

I've been doing my own blinged out bandaging! I love the idea! I have a scar on my chest, people are always asking ?? About it, covering it up w/ bling is the better cover. :-)

Cuts and scars are usually something you don't want to bring attention to. This is definitely the opposite of discreet

This is the stupidest thing I've ever seen. Watch. People will now cut themselves on purpose so they can wear these dumb things.

This idea doesn't even deserve one heart. Are people in the fashion industry so bored that they are creating blinged out bandaids? whats next..blinged out pads?

I agree with Gillian. If you're going to wear a bandaid in a place that is going to be noticeable, why not spruce it up?

These are AWESOME, my wife wears them to cover a scar on her back when we go out on the town dressed up. It covers the ugly bandage and the scar...actually looks sexy too. Looks like some unfashionable grump reviews here don't get it, but glad that millions of others do.
