DIY: CHANEL KHAKI NAILS
Our at-home homage to Chanel's hot new shades.
Thanks to our constant mani-curiousity, we’ve learned a thing or two about nail trends. Things like, Chanel's new polish colors are so unique, they usually require a double-take.
So when hearing the French fashion-house plans to launch three new shades in honor of New York’s upcoming Fashion's Night Out (September 10th), we tried to keep this in mind. And just like with Particulière and Nouvelle Vague, Chanel’s khaki-inspired lacquer made us think, "Can we really pull this off?"
It took a few tries and a lot of patience to mix the perfect shades in homage to Chanel, but we definitely nailed it.
Our three concoctions:
For KHAKI ROSE
Main color: Use Sally Hansen’s Hard as Nails in “Chocolate”
Add: Brucci Nail Hardener in “Crème De Cocoa”
And a drop of: American Apparel’s “Summer Peach”
For KHAKI VERT
Main color: American Apparel’s “Summer Peach”
Add: Brucci Nail Hardener in “Crème De Cocoa”
And a drop of: Any bright green
For KHAKI BRUN
Main color: Brucci Nail Hardener in “Crème De Cocoa”
Add: American Apparel’s “Summer Peach”
And a drop of: Any bright red

Rimmel has a nail color that is very very close to Khaki Rose. It's call "Hot Cocoa", but isn't chocolate brown at all. It's very rosy, much like the Chanel Khaki Rose.
I wouldn't even bother buying three nail colors & mixing.

i'm not sure whether i love it or hate it. part of me really likes the new, unique colors, but another part of me is saying it looks like something my grandma would wear. hmmmmm i guess it depends on who wears it

i agree with anna, it depends on who wears it. for me it´s too boring, i like neon colours...

I would want to see a picture of the khaki shade on an actual hand.
The rose does look a bit too old, like a marroon that faded from pool water.

I really love the Green one. I've used the Rimmel Hot Cocoa. I really liked the rosy/khaki brown
