Can you buy wool in August?
A peculiar fashion fad happens in August: You're still wearing bikinis and cutoffs, but store windows boast long sleeve outfits with leather, wool, and suede.
Of course, you can always work Fall pieces into the mix now - as long as you do it carefully. Pair boots with a sundress during the day, or throw a tight, sequined sweater underneath a loose tank top at night.
But what can you do with Topshop's new line of shearling, which debuted on their runway this February, and rolls into stores this week? You can wear the vest ($360) right now - on rare cold evenings - but the cropped coats ($110 - $650), while gorgeous, won't get much use until October.
And that's the dilemma. Buy now, or take your chances, and revisit your shearling crush in a month... if there's any left in the stores?
