Can you get the Cal-Gel manicure at home?!

If you pay attention to Dani Stahl's Twitter, you know there's a major manicure obsession in our office:  Marie Nails.

The salon from Tokyo opened an outpost across the street from our building, and we love their Cal-Gel procedure.  It works like a normal manicure, except it's heated underneath a UV light at the end.  The result?  Your manicure stays put for 3-4 weeks, with no chipping - and deters nail-biters with amazing strength.

The only drawback is cost:  The gels run $50 - $100, and we don't always have the cash to back up our cravings.  So when Sephora came out with an at-home version, we had to test it ourselves.

Perfect Formula Online Gel costs $24, smells "normal," and takes about five minutes to dry.  It comes in clear and a tinted pink, and works as either a base and top coat or by itself.  And though it doesn't last as long as a Cal-Gel treatment, it'll keep your nails chip-free for about ten days.

Each bottle costs $25 - not bad when you consider the wear and tear it's saving your manicure.

I ADORE Marie Nails. I go once or twice a month for my cal gel nails. They are brilliant and stay on for at least 3 weeks. I'll def. have to try out this sephora gel. :)
