In Greek mythology, Hermes is the messenger god. In the fashion world... well, Hermès is pretty much worshipped, too. And after taking muses like Jane Birkin, Grace Kelly, and Jackie O, the French label seems to have taken its new cue from you: Go hipster or go home.
Naturally, that means they've started a new website. Called
J’aime Mon Carré (or, I Love My Scarf), it features a select group of It Girls from around the globe (er, New York, London, Tokyo, and Paris) playfully showing off different ways to don the latest collection of silky, colorful scarves (think of Burberry's Art of the Trench, with way more pink). Besides a model in London and a singer in Tokyo, their new crew includes our former intern Spacey Tracy, and frequent NYLON mannequin Harley Viera-Newton.
The downside? The limited-edition scarves don't debut until September, and only exist exclusively at Colette.... meaning even if we could afford one, it 's going to be a fight to get our hands on it.
The upside? The site boasts tons of material to explore, including photo booth candids, bios, step-by-step instructions on different ways to wear your scarf (even if it's from Club Monaco and inside a hallowed orange box), plus short films, and, duh, Polaroids.
