Drew Barrymore is everyone's golden girl, and not just because of her amazing blonde hair. The actress and producer made a string of movies we can watch on 24-hour repeat (Never Been Kissed, Whip It, Grey Gardens...), and she still has time to star in the Cover Girl commercials.
Our beauty director, Holly Siegel, sat down with Drew in Los Angeles...
On Being Perfect
"You have to not pretend to be perfect, because that's not only boring as fuck, but it's just not real...So I feel so liberated in that way. I just really want to be true to myself. That's essential in life. I would never be able to put on a charade. I would totally fuck it up."
On her In-Between Period
"I had a big gap in my life where I wasn't allowed to work at all because no one would hire me, which was great because I think you need that humility. You have to have everything taken away, or you have to have a major reality check, so that you always appreciate what you have."
On Simulating Phone Sex in her New Movie, Going the Distance.
"You know, phone sex going awry is just a funny concept to me and I thought, This is going to be one of those scenes where we have to go balls out, and if it doesn't work, it's going to be editing room floor crap."

Wow. I think even if you're not into Jesus, you should believe in second chances, and being able to grow as a person. She seems to be an amazing example of that. Also, I was excited we shot Drew because she is my hair icon. Just saying.

Get your head Camille out of your ass. Drew is real and down to earth and saying fuck is no big deal. Fuck is just a word like shit, dam, hell, bastard, bitch, pussing. Get it. I wonder how many times you say these words a day. Get off your high horse and take a good look at yourself in the mirror. She was on drugs, but it's not anymore. At least of what I know. She is a real example of what overcoming things is about. She has talent and personality. So what is she doesn't look good on the clothes or is not appealing, what counts is the person. If Lindsay recovers herself one day, she can be the new Drew. Of course, Drew is better. But if Drew did it, we all can do it. So far the best cover of the year <3
