LOOKBOOK: MADRAS BY APC
Squirrels invade the French bourgeoisie!
When designing for A.P.C., one must bear in mind the basics. Staple selections of skirts, blouses and trousers are fit to be mixed and matched (always with a scarf) in true Parisian fashion. Jessica Ogden’s latest Madras collection for A.P.C. combines these girly wardrobe necessities with something weird.
This story was published on June 7, 2010.
The line includes schoolgirl dresses with black tights and flats, reminding us of the French New Wave’s Anna Karina and her casual elegance. At the same time, the clothes are crammed with purple prints of vermin (don’t worry, you have to look really close to see them).
Keep your eyes out for Madras’ appearance on A.P.C’s website. With Jessica Ogden’s skewed riff on classic Parisian street style, we envision the transition from summer to fall to be more of a frolic.
