To those who love the great outdoors, “lush” describes abundance in foliage. To those who’ve stayed up late in British pubs, “lush” is the sloppy drunk girl who’s never satisfied. But to beauty junkies like us, Lush is the queen of all-natural handmade skincare and soaps.
Up until recently (aside from a few lip balms), the brand’s steered clear of the makeup world, holding court in our shower. Thankfully they’ve stepped out their comfort zone, now entering the trendy land of vegan makeup.
Kicking off with a range of “color supplements” (aka blend-able foundations), the products come sans mineral oil (a skin-irritator found in most cover-ups). Made from fresh rose oil infusions and soya oil, the four varying foundations promise to soothe redness and keep your skin from drying out.
Our first reaction (after conducting the official blend-a-dab-on-the-front-of-my-hand-test): it’s light, non-cakey, and magically manages to conceal using only a trace of product. Our only wish? Lush should keep on the makeup brigade.
