Live from Paris, it's Powder Puff Fashion Week!
Charlotte Tibury was the head makeup artist, and the faces were soft, sophisticated and subtle. The MAC team painted creamy russet colored lipstick onto lips; taupe and mauve powder shadow were blended to create a really modern, less severe version of a smokey eye; light tawny blush was used to lightly contour under cheekbones, adding a 1970's style touch; mascara was left off lashes to keep the look super soft. Each models hair was gathered into a loose, bouncy ponytail and topped with a tulle pouf headband (I desperately want one now).
The collection was beautiful; full of her classic knits and really oversized slouchy mens suits in thick, cozy fabrics. The color waves of the collection matched the makeup - taupe, cream, gray and ballet pink. I absolutely loved the final walk, in which all the models changed into gorgeous feathered puff dresses and came stomping down the runway, as a group, to "Come As You Are". The makeup and clothes kept the girly, fun feeling Sonia has always been know for, but it felt more refined than it has in the past.
Sunday night was the most infamous party of PFW - the New York New York party at club Regine. All my bff's from NYC organized and DJ'd the event and it was absolute insanity. The Misshapes, Mike Nouveau and Spencer Product DJ'd, while Tommy Saleh, Steven Rojas, Matt Kays, Pete Miszuk and Phil Oh hosted. I would love to give more info on what happened at the party, but basically the whole night was a blur. I do recall dancing like a maniac, wearing a really amazing Lagerfeld dress and being handed a random bottle of champagne that Geordon Nicol had stashed in his dj bag/purse.
On the agenda for tomorrow - Giambattista Valli.
