HIT THE BOTTLE

HIT THE BOTTLE

Finally, a way to make air travel a bit prettier.

When the NYLON crew set off for Project Las Vegas last week, we were surprised by a few new airline rules.

Want a bag of pretzels? It’ll cost you.

Need a blanket to stay warm? Pull out your wallet.

But nothing vexed us like the charges to check a bag. If it’s checked, you run the risk of the bag getting lost and you having nothing to wear; if it’s carried on, you have to ditch all your favorite luxe shampoos and body lotions with the guy at security.

Too bad 3floz.com didn’t launch a little sooner.

The new website features all your favorite brands, from Malin + Goetz to Ole Henriksen, only in pint-size form. The products are all TSA-approved, taking out the guesswork that’s inherent with shopping for smaller bottles. (Yes, some brands make 4 oz. bottles just to piss us off.)

For travelers, they’ve made it easy to upgrade from the cheap hotel soap you’d rather not use by offering international shipping, direct-to-hotel delivery, and same-day courier service within Manhattan. Even if you’re not airport-bound, 3floz.com allows you to try that Philip B conditioner you’ve been eyeing for a quarter of the price you’d pay for a full-size bottle.

If only they could figure out a way to get us an in-flight upgrade and we’d actually look forward to air travel.

Ahhh this is pretty awesome. I have to travel this summer, and the fact that I can't bring my beauty kit with me has been killing me! And going out and finding the 3oz bottles is a pain, so this is nice.

Great to know. Anyone else amused by the author using "pint-size" to mean "a lot less than a pint"?
