FIRST LOOK: GEREN FORD 2010 / 2011
Kicking off New York Fashion Week with a wine-stained lip and lots of leather.
Designer Geren Lockhart held her Fall 2010 show in the basement of the Crosby Street Hotel, and once you saw the clothes, you understood why: With their demure ruffled hems, bleeding Bonnie and Clyde colors, and cropped '20s hair, the new collection will look right at home in a speakeasy.
That's not to say there aren't modern touches. A ribbed corset a la Proenza Schouler and a lot of stretched, stitched, and treated gray leather and silk leant the show some tough-girl grit, as did the drinks menu: straight potato vodka and grapefruit juice, which was equal parts farm girl and big city bohemian - kind of like this kinked and charming show.

I very much enjoy this collection, I can really see the appeal. I would love to be in possesion of almost every piece that I've seen. Gorgeous colours, and beautiful fabrics from what I can see.

oh wow, that looks gorgy! i immediatly got a vision of baking a vegan vanilla peace cake with blackberries in the holes (sort of like yours, if i do fully that vision i'll have you guys to thank for the inspiration). plus, this really is good reason for me to lighten up and recover from anorexia already. haha

My wife thinks that the collection is quite plain compared to other collections.
