Remember when Cher (yes,
Clueless reference) promised Miss Giest she’d start a letter writing campaign about violations of the Clean Air Act? Sure, she only did it to increase her grades, but nonetheless, a good deed is a good deed…right?
Joining the vast list of charitable celebs is Hello Kitty, which gets her very own series of eco-friendly goods. With her pink bow still attached, Sanrio declares that “Hello Kitty leads the go green campaign in her cool green overalls and nature-inspired adornment on her paws.” Her new products include jute tote bags, notebooks made of recyclable paper and soy ink, and even an adorable stainless steel coffee mug.
Though we hope the Kitty isn’t merely trying to boost her altruistic appeal, it’s hard to not support the iconic cat in her attempt to reduce our carbon pawprint.
As for spotting her with a Nalgene bottle in hand, picketing in support of fair trade? That will happen the moment we spot Cher at a freegan party.
