GET WAISTED

Don't fear the fit of these new jeans.

There's a reason the high waist jean didn't become a denim staple when the trend came along several years ago, and it's pretty simple:  The jeans just didn't fit.  Unless you had a long torso and long legs, you ended up looking like the Mom Jeans skit on SNL.  In other words, epic fail.

But the brave folks at Hudson Collection have given the trend another try, with a small modification: they've elongated the waist, but kept the butt - and the jean pockets - where they should be.

We threw a pair on NYLON TV's Lina Plioplyte to test it out, and the results were solid - especially when the drainpipe cut is paired with clogs or chunky heels.

The jeans roll out into stores this week for about $215 at Barneys and Barneys.com on February 15, but they're not the only ones dipping their toes back into the trend - Charlotte Russe just released their own wide-leg take on the pant, for $34.95.

I'm kind of tall but I have a slightly curvy body and I love wearing my high waisted jeans. Was I the only one?

In my opinion, high waisted jeans do not look good on anyone, jeans add chunk in general and make people look bigger than they are. The high waist jeans add more to this, make people look bulkier, wider, and really only look decent on extremely skinny girls such as Lindsay Lohan.

I LOVE high waisted jeans. They're perfect for tall girls with hips- like me. They make every part of my body look super sleek, and they look amazing with crop shirts. I can't be the ONLY one who loves this trend?

hmm. i agree that tall girls can rock this look but short girls (especially curvy short girls like me) probably shouldn't try it. high-waisted jeans just make me look shorter and squatter. low-rise skinnies, please!

definitely made for tallll slim girls, but they are adorable when on the right person. my favorite take on this trend are levi high waisted cut off shorts.

well im short n like the regular rise jeans which look high wasted on me n i have booty so it hides my crack n doesnt add the look of unattractive love handles! so short girls could rock the look they just have 2 wear regular or mid rise

i'm 4'10" and i wear high-waisted jeans, but i have a short torso and long legs so i guess that's why i don't look too stumpy? generally i prefer a mid-rise though. and i really dislike hudson jeans.

I loveee high wasted jeans. They are the best fitting jeans, and they are so comfortable! I hate jeans that easily show crack!
