Borghese claims that their new nail polish collection was inspired by the Milan runway, but we think the real muse is what’s underneath it.
The six-piece series features deep berries, blues, and beiges that owe their shine to micronized gemstones. Unlike other lacquers, which rely on chunky glitter or in-your-face opalescence, the “Fashionista” collection uses crushed jewels to get a subtle shimmer. “Mezzanotte Blue” is a perfect mix between cobalt and navy, while “Biscotti Beige” recalls
that spring '10 Chanel shade that’s sold out everywhere.
Besides the gemstones, you’ll also find Borghese’s signature Acqua di Vita Living Water Complex in the formula—what, exactly, it’s made of, they’re not saying, but it will help prevent your nails from getting brittle. What you won’t find inside the bottle are DBP’s, toluene, and added formaldehyde.
That chunky ring might be faux-amethyst, but your fingers? Totally covered in the real thing.
