THE ROOTS

THE ROOTS

Our new beauty crush is to dye for.

If your hair color comes from a salon, you've probably made some sacrifices:

There's the $100 - $300 fee for highlights, the two hours you spend chained to your stylist's chair, the mild but lingering smell of bleach that makes you sneeze for two days, and the fear that in a few short months, your roots will betray your careful salon routine and you'll have to start all over again.

Is it worth it?  Definitely.  Could it be easier?  Uh, yeah.  And Oscar Blandi knows it.

The "stylist to the stars" is used to seeing root awakenings, the kind sported every season by Sarah Jessica Parker on TV.  And while his new product, a "highlighting pen," won't curb your need to visit the beauty parlor, it could definitely put off the inevitable for a little bit longer.

Available in six colors, from blonde to jet black, the pens claim to "instantly disguise dark roots" with an at-home color and conditioning formula.  At $30 each, they're not cheap, but compared to a monthly salon visit, these pens are downright thrifty.
