Shocker: The year's best dancehall album was made by two white guys who aren't from Jamaica. But for what it's worth, Diplo and Switch did record
Guns Don't Kill People... Lazers Do - their debut album together - at Kingston's legendary Tuff Gong studio, which was founded by Bob Marley's Wailers. "I love working with the locals down there, because they can rock a punk riff or a one-note loop," marvels Diplo. "They can catch a vibe off anything."
Luckily, so can Diplo: His set of deep-grooving bangers attracted all-star guests like reggae phenom Ricky Blaze. Now everyone wants in. Diplo's talking to Gwen Stefani, Mavado, and Sizzla about collaborating on the next record.
