The world of Lilly Pulitzer extends far beyond Palm Beach’s outer limits; from sheath dresses to bed sets, the pastel loving socialite-turned-designer found a way to make her mark on just about everything.
Everything, that is, except for makeup.
Finally, nearly 50 years since first designing a frock to keep her clean while working at her beachside juice stand, Lilly Pulitzer is getting its own collection of beauty products.
MAC in Lillyland, a collaboration with MAC cosmetics, arrives on shelves this January, just in time to cheer you up as temperatures drop. The 19-piece line is what you’d expect from the brand that popularized preppy pop—think juicy orange glosses, Day-Glo fuchsia blush, and iridescent seashell shadows. But the centerpiece would have to be the Pearlmatte Face Powder and Eye Shadow; each pot is emblazoned with a bold floral pattern so pretty, you might not want to ever use it.
But don't be scared by the though of upbeat palettes and feminine flowers; while they’d all look good paired with one of Pulitzer’s punchy prints, the MAC in Lillyland products won’t threaten your tough girl image when worn with a leather jacket or a dress full of studs.
