BAND CRUSH: THE BOXER REBELLION

We think this band is a knockout. Read about them and get their free track.

Living up to a violent, anti-imperialist uprising isn't easy, but if anyone's up for the task, it's the Boxer Rebellion.  Since forming in the early 2000s, the London-based rock quartet has perfected its moody-but-melodic sonic assault.

That's not to say the journey was without its hiccups: Singer Nathan Nicholson's appendix burst  while on tour in '03, and the band's record label went under just two weeks after their debut, Exits, came out.

Yes, the Boxer Rebellion has had to overcome its fair share of strife to drop Union, their second album in four years, which was self-released.  But given the onslaught of epic, gravel-voiced anthems on the record, you'll forgive them the wait.
