We're playing with Nike's new iPhone app.
At this point, Nike has hundreds of thousands of sneaker designs in their Nike iD vault. They've been created by designers, by celebrities, and by sneaker fiends who've scored appointments at various iD studios around the world.
Now Nike's opening their vault of original designs through their snappy iPhone App. You can browse their shoes by color, size, or style, but there's a more fun way to play with it:
Go into their "photo match" feature and select a picture of anything from your friends to a NYLON cover (ahem). The app pulls a matching color palette from the photos, and then thousands of shoes in a few seconds that match your chosen image.
Is it as good as designing your own shoe on an iPhone app? No, and we're hoping that's next on Nike's list. But for now, it's a fun distraction from answering emails, and a good way to figure out what shoes are next on your wish list.
